The Payer Issues Committee mission is to develop and maintain ongoing and effective liaison with the Health Care Financing Administration, its Medicare Carriers, the State Department of Health Services, along with its intermediary; Managed Care Organizations and other payers to facilitate the exchange of information. The committee is also responsible to address issues and problems between them and the industry; to identify and articulate the association's position on matters under the Committee's charge; and to make legislative referrals to the Legislative and Agency Relations Committee of the association when appropriate.

COMMITTEE OBJECTIVES

1. Liaison with Medicare Carrier.
2. Liaison with Medi-Cal Program.
3. Identify payer billing issues that impact the industry and seek resolution with appropriate payer entity.
4. Assist in the development of Membership Alerts and/or bi-weekly updates on payer billing issues.
